Just your classic "boy meets werewolf"
You know how sometimes, someone tells you something you did was wrong, and they're really nice about it, but you still end up feeling like the puppy after you've tapped its nose with the newspaper? I really hate that.

Continuing today's canine theme, then: today's rec! [info]ionaonie will, of course, claim I've defected over to the dark side, but I have to admit that as time has gone on I've enjoyed Kirk/McCoy more than I did, and now I like it as much as I like Kirk/Spock. This is a great example of the pairing, even though it's a werewolf fic - it carries the tone of the relationship really well, and Sarka really captures McCoy's grouchy loveability in her use of his POV.

Twice Shy by [info]sarkasticfics. Summary: Bones is a werewolf. The moment he met James Kirk, got a good whiff of his scent, he knew he was fucked. He had thought those stories about werewolves scenting their mate were all bullshit. But the stories about mating for life have got to be fake, right? Right?

You know, I just read that on Monday. You can read my mind, can't you? *g* I loved it. But I'm still more a Kirk/SpockPrime girl...

Yeah, I hate that too. And I get annoyed that I can't really be annoyed because the other person was so nice about it... heh.

I love fandom. I think it says something good about the inventiveness of humanity that we can take a story like Star Trek and think 'This is good, but it would be so much better if McCoy was a werewolf...' :D

*pets* I hate a sting to the pride, especially when it's an embarrassing mistake that you feel really dumb in hindsight for making XD

And the fic -- I loved this one!
